BC sets FAFSA workshops at high schoolsPosted Monday, February 22, 2010
![]() Brazosport College’s financial aid department will be holding a number of workshops at local high schools during upcoming weeks and months. The purpose of the workshops is to assist dual-credit students, graduating seniors and parents of students in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. All potential students seeking financial aid for any college or university in the nation must fill out a FAFSA. With the proper documents in hand, such as one’s Federal Income Tax return, the FAFSA takes around 30 minutes to complete. After completion, the form will automatically be submitted to the Department of Education for evaluation. If qualifications are met, dual-credit students can be awarded up to $250 per semester. Graduating seniors may be eligible to receive up to $5,550 per year in Pell grant funds. ![]() The following is a listing of upcoming financial aid workshops at local high schools: • Feb. 23 – Columbia High School, 6 p.m. For more information on these financial aid workshops, contact a high school counselor or call the Brazosport College financial aid department at (979) 230-3377.
