Auditions for music scholarships in the Department of Music at Brazosport College are being held March 6 and May 1. New students wishing to audition for scholarships should have a prepared piece and be prepared to sight read.

Scholarships are available to instrumentalists, including pianists, and vocalist who enroll in 12 credit hours and maintain a 2.0 GPA. Majoring in music is not required to receive a scholarship.

Scholarships are awarded for participation in at least one of the three instrumental ensembles - Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band or Jazz Combo - or the four vocal ensembles - Chamber Choir, Coasters, College Singers or Jazz Singers. Piano scholarships also are available for accompanying choirs or applied lessons.

To schedule an audition, post paid return cards are provided on scholarship announcement posters at all area high schools, Brazosport College Department of Music, or by contacting Richard Birk, 230-3272, richard.birk@brazosport.edu or Rodney Mason, 230-3316, rodney.mason@brazosport.edu.
