Lone Star Legal Aid receives check

United Way of Brazoria County recently presented $19,680 in annual funds to Lone Star Legal Aid. The check represents the contributions from the 2007 campaign that are being directed during the current fiscal year.

Lone Star Legal Aid helps to increase independence by providing legal council for its clients.

United Way directly funds 63 health and human service programs that help strengthen children and families, improve community health and increase financial independence.

The 2008 countywide campaign will kick off in September and continue through the end of the year.
