United Way Funds were recently distributed to Brazosport Medical Center, ActionS and the Women's Center of Brazoria County. ![]() From left: Juanita Daniels-Crane, Christina Madrigal, Frances McCaulley, Jeanette Hernandez, Delma Davis, Nola Copus (BMC Director), Janie Cardenas, Gloria Luna (UWBC) and John Smith (BMC Board Chairman). Brazosport Medical Center provides a variety of services including medical care, dental care, and family counseling. ActionS, which provides meals and support services to people over 60, to help them maintain their independence, received a check for $106,075 from the 2007 United Way campaign. ![]() United Way of Brazoria County executive director, Stephanie Cone (left) presents executive director of the Women's Center of Brazoria county with a check. The Women's Center offers emergency shelter along with help and counseling for victims of family violence. It received $119,940 from donations made during the 2007 United Way campaign. United Way directly funds 63 health and human service programs that help strengthen children and families, improve community health and increase financial independence.
