Please share this with the smoking ban panel.

I would first like to thank you for your dedication to this thankless task, as I say on the blog (located at http://blog.myspace.com/mikey59tx ), it's beyond me why the council and city employees are not tearing their hair out as they deal with residents, who are so set in their ways, and work to bring this city to it's destiny at the same time.
When covering Angleton City Council meetings (unfortunately going to miss this month's too because it's my 47th birthday, but I will be back) and speaking to individuals at City Hall for the blog, it's obvious that the City is working hard to attract new businesses. I am not quite yet a successful Angleton businessman and my status is still only "A Legend In The Making," but I am busy learning to become one. Based on what I have learned so far, I would think that destroying long established businesses with a smoking ban, when there aren't and probably never will be many smoking establishments in the first place, would not be attractive to some (most would not care, of course) of the business folks considering setting up shop in our great city.
You should also consider how many Angleton's residents that go to the establishments which would be shut down by a smoking ban, as a matter of pride, would not go to any other restaurants here. If the smoking ban is implemented and a restaurant just outside the City Limits where folks could smoke was not started immediately by someone I would really be surprised, with both of those resulting in a loss of revenue for Angleton.
As for me, the only time I smoke in a restaurant is on Friday mornings and it wouldn't be a big deal, whether or not we moved to the new restaurant just outside the City Limits would be up to Micheal Boddy, of course.

Thanks Again!
