I enjoyed your column about what makes you happy - especially the part about your wife.

This coming Sunday is our 40th wedding anniversary, and my sermon title is “Blessed Incompatibility”. I want to say a few things about our lives together, and I’m rather weary of hearing people who are divorced get blasted from a pulpit (not mine), so I intend to say a few things about why people - especially women - need a divorce.

Saint John is giving us a cake and punch reception following worship; I am really blessed not only to be married to Carolyn, but also my marriage with Saint John has been a good one.

Anyway, your article was good; it made me feel good! As James Brown would sing:

“I feel good! I knew that I would now!”
