Reader responds to Doc Oubre Article

The Doc Oubre article was great! He is an amazing person. He shook us up pretty bad one day, many years ago, when he walked in the door of the bank and there was NO WHISTLE! Everyone he passed just froze, customers and employees alike. We just knew he was gravely ill or someone very special to him had passed away!

No … he was having his teeth pulled in preparation for dentures and the dentist had just pulled his front top and bottom teeth. Much to his surprise, he could no longer whistle. He told us the dentist took his whistle but promised to give it back!

Sure enough, dentures complete, his whistle returned and once again we heard Doc long before we saw him. No matter what you were doing, no matter what type of day you were having, that whistle put a smile on your face!
