The Brazosport College Adult Life and Learning Program will be offering ten new classes for the 2008 fall semester.

Master of Your Memory will help students identify and use strategies to improve their memory function. Sharon Trower will help students understand how your memory works and what may affect their memory.

Stamp Collecting: a Hobby for a Lifetime is also new for the fall semester. This class will begin with the fundamentals of stamp collecting and move forward as quickly as the class desires. Each student will be given a small batch of stamps to get started.

For students who would like to be creative with rubber-stamping, ALLP is offering Stamping Art. Students in this class will create unique custom designs for cards, scrapbook pages, and other crafts including 3-D projects.

Students who are looking for fun ways to get in a little exercise, Chairobics for the Young at Heart is the class to be in. This class uses favorite music selections from their past and is taught using a chair for both seated exercises and for support during standing exercises. Another class, Intermediate Line Dancing, also promises to be lots of fun and is a great mental and physical exercise. Students will learn a new dance each week.

Explore the spontaneous flowing nature of watercolors. In Watercolor Techniques and Gimmicks, Karen Veazey will show students simple steps using basic brush techniques and more that will make students feel like an experienced artist.

Beginning Drawing is another new class being offered that will teach you basic shapes, shading, and perspectives. It is a great class for students to show their creative side.

John Nowlin, a longtime Lake Jackson jeweler, will offer students the Ins and Outs of Fine Jewelry. This class is for anyone interested in how fine jewelry is made, how to care for jewelry, and how to understand jewelry advertising.

In Genealogy Made Easy students will learn terminology, sources for gathering information, and computer programs to store the information gathered from research.

Sign language in America is used by more than half a million people and Jo Ann Frost will be teaching students common phrases in a relaxed and fun atmosphere in Sign Language for Fun.
